2009-sxsw-disc-labels001SXSW is one of the largest music festivals in the United States, with more than 1,400 performers playing dozens of venues around Austin, Texas over four days, in March each year.

The 2009 SXSW festival was held March 13-22 and the music samplers have been released, with a record breaking 1267 songs made available as DRM-Free MP3s, ready to load into iTunes and then onto your iPod or iPhone.

The songs can be downloaded individually from the SXSW website or as a set of three BitTorrent files weighting in at a massive 6.1GB. Or they are available, via the Niche FTP site, as a set of two DVDs ready to release as a ‘bonus Disc of the Month’ set to your members, as are the 2005 – 2008 collections.

A new Promo Movie has been generated, which is silent, so you could play an example of your favourite track(s) from the collection whilst showing the promo movie (perhaps as people enter your meetings).

Likewise a new Promotional Flyer has been released, which features all six Discs from the last five years at $10 each, plus two bundles – $15 for the two 2009 Discs; or $40 for all six DVDs.

If you aren’t in a position to download the Disc Images, but still want to make them available to your own members, jump over to our original announcement about the SXSW Sample DVDs for details on how to order physical copies from AUSOM to use as your own Golden Masters.
