Apple Youth CampStarting in June 2009, Apple Retail Stores in Australia will conduct free workshops, during school holidays, called “Apple Camp” for children aged 8 years to 12 years old.

The Apple Camp workshops are two and half hour to three hour long sessions that provide both an entertaining and educational activity for kids to enjoy. The sessions are taught by Specialists or Trainers at all Apple Retail stores in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.

Using iLife and iWork applications, kids ages 8 to 12 get hands-on Mac experience producing a movie; creating a photo slideshow; writing and recording a song or putting on a show.

You can take along your own Apple notebook running Mac OS X, if you have one, or else the required hardware will be supplied. You can also take along other material like your own photos, music, videos etc to use in the workshops to create a truly personalised project, as Campers create their own projects, then bring them home on a DVD to show them off.

As we mentioned, Apple Camps are free of charge, but space is strictly limited, so book your child, nephew/niece, or grandchildren in NOW! And as the children need a parent or guardian present, you may learn a few tricks of the trade as well 🙂
